Welcome to Have I Got News For Youth! We are freshly made and ready to be consumed, a healthy nutritional breakfast helping you take in political and societal knowledge and giving you an energised voice. We are a delicious bacon sandwhich. You are Ed Milliband.
Ok, you’re probably not Ed Milliband. And if you are I’m sorry about bringing the sandwhich up again.
Moving swiftly onwards, thankyou for joining us! We are very excited about the launch of this blog. There are a noticeable lack of spaces for youth involvement in political discussion so what’s better than a blog ran entirely by 16-24 year olds, FOR 16-24 year olds, to get our voices heard. And what’s even better is that we aren’t just a place for news writing, or opinion columns. Have I Got News For Youth is going to feature as much multi media as possible. Illustrations, photography, cartoons, videos, podcasts, music; you name it, we’ll have it.
Whether you just want to hear your own generation’s views, voice your own opinions without having middle aged people call you unexperienced or naive, practice your writing skills, or learn more about politics and society, Have I Got News For Youth is always going to be free, accessible and youth-centric.
The upcoming months are particularly exciting because the general election is approaching, and there’s going to be lots to talk about. Anything could happen and we are going to work our hardest to document the road to May 2015.
If you want to get involved in Have I Got News For Youth just check out our Contact Us page. We’d love to provide a platform to as many young people as we possibly can! We can’t wait to get started!
